About Jill
Currently a Teaching Artist at District Clay Center in Washington, DC,
Jill has taught all levels of wheel throwing for over 12 years. She also taught classes online in Hand Building. Before moving back to DC, she was a professional member of The Potters Guild in Wallingford, PA, and an Associate at The Clay Studio in Philadelphia. Jill mainly creates one-of-a-kind serving pieces. She’s drawn to the nature-inspired principles of Frank Lloyd Wright, and blends color palettes and textures from the natural world to evoke peoples’ positive feelings and invite a deeper appreciation for the environment. Jill received a BA in Fine Arts with a concentration in Sculpture from a cooperative program at The George Washington University and the Corcoran School of Art. Since then, she has continued to take advanced courses in ceramics and participate in workshops across the country. In her prior life, Jill was a full-time practicing Attorney in Telecommunications Law.
